Greetings all!

I hope your summer is being enjoyed, and I hope you are making memories.

I have some great news, I completed the LSU summer provisional program, and I am now attending in the fall. I plan to major in Apparel design.

I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on my wardrobe and fashion lately. Hence, this is going to be my fashion blog.

What do I think are some must-have’s for this fall?

Let’s start with your fingers, and wrists.

Nail it with nude and pale pink nails!

Now for your wrists.. Watches are back, silver is not. Go for anything big and anything gold. It’s called “boyfriend style”, and I have fallen DEEPLY in love with it.

Of course, who would not want this gold Rolex covered in diamonds? A watch like this cost around $36,000 no thanks, I’d take a new BMW

I happily settled for this beautiful fossil, only $100.

The next must-have I will name is simply because they are a classic and will never grow old. It is the accessory I would marry if it were a human. The Ray Ban’s! I love my tortoise shell Ray Ban’s with all my heart. I purchased them with some graduation money.

Another accessory that I would love to have is this bag below. Anything with the combination of vintage and Chanel is a winner.

Now as far as clothes, anything black, or white. Neutrals are just as good. Make sure you don’t forget high waist skirts, ruffles, and lace. Lace leggings are a good modest thing to go under your skirts. Oh and Ralph Lauren never dies.

make sure the look tailored, and you are good to go. Put it over anything and add sophistication to any outfit. I used some examples from Ann Taylor and J.Crew

As far as shoes.. for everyday, these would be fabulous..

Going out, or just want to stand out? Step into some of these babies.

Let’s face it. This season is full of boyfriend style type things, from the oversized watches, to the men’s style dress shoes, to the blazers.

Feel like a girl again and fall into a little black dress! The example on the left is by Fendi, and it is $2,190.00 That’s a little out of my price range, I don’t know about yours, but the one on the right is very similar. I find anyway. It is on UrbanOutfitters.com under sale. It is only $30.00

“the house that built me”

I was so sure that I was ready to leave this small town, so sure about being on my own without my parents nagging me everyday. I was so sure of all of these things for quite some time now, but today it hit me.

When I was driving down my street I realized that I was moving out in less than a week, and that this place that I grew up, rode my bike, learned how to drive, learned guitar, and gained all my friendships, the place that I call home, wouldn’t truly be my home next week. It’ll be the place I visit.

What if I’m bored and I just want to go next door to Jada’s, or if I need a night away and I want to escape at the abates behind Jada? Or what if I just absolutely want to pick up Savanna on the golfcart and drive down to the snowball stand? These little everyday things and habits that I’ve gained would from now on take a lot of effort, just to be equal with the lifestyle I’m accustom to.

I’m finding it hard to move away from “the house that built me”, I feel like I’m separating from all I know. Maybe I’m just a big baby, no I am.. I hope this new chapter in my life is very colorful. like these pictures I took tonight due to boredom.

that’s just one.

killing a million birds with ONE blog

Wow, so guess what I did today?

I presented my seinor project! I really did so well! I’m giving my bling elephant ring the credit, the elephant’s trunk is up and that stands for good luck, but not only that, my Memaw was in love with elephants when she was alive and I know wearing the ring helped her be there with me and keep me as  calm as possible.

Let’s back up  my life time line a little bit, the weekend that just passed was my senior prom, and my “sister” Savanna and I thought it would be cool to get a spray tan for the first time ever. When the lady asked how dark I wanted to be I said, “PRETTY dark, just not orange” and Savanna said “dark, just not orange.” Well I came out a million shades darker by saying “pretty dark”, I litterally looked like an African American.. After the lady was finished spraying me I went to get dressed and she was like “oh honey, you can’t put your bra back on” So that was great news! I was really excited about waiting to pay in front of everyone without a bra and sitting in the waiting room looking like a brown cave woman while Savanna was getting sprayed for at least 20 minutes! THE BEST PART! I literally already was brown and then the lady so oh and prepare to darken with in the next 4 hours, oh thats WONDERFUL!

 so much in fact, that my mother made me put on an afro wig and hold a wooden watermelon. I know that I will extremely regret putting this picture up, but hey, anything for my readers.

Alright,  so to make the contrast even bigger I got my teeth whitened!

This was my sister and I at prom.

The Monday after prom, we had senior skip day! That was so fun! My tan was kind of worn off by this time, and I was mixed instead of black. This is my husband and I going down the slip-n-slide. I’m going to miss him, he’s leaving for disney world tomorow!

Guess what? I graduate in exactly one month from today! Look at the picture that I turned in for senior baby pictures, what can I say, I stayed the same. Messy.

Only in New Orleans

So today started off sorta cruddy. I was tardy but the teacher didn’t notice, then I had to turn in my phone back into the office because they gave it back for the trip but the deal was I had to return it Monday.

Well after I left school and went into satellite center, as I walked in the class my teacher was talking about some students going film at the french quarter. Of course I volunteered myself, but then my teacher was all “Well they wanted two boys” So I told him to stop being sexest and that I was going.

So Payton, Michael, and two HRT girls, and the HRT teacher and I hopped in the mini van and made our way to New Orleans just to do a couple of shots of two people greeting eachother in front of some landmarks in New Orleans.

We had already filmed at a few locations just as we were driving down a street in the mini van, and the teacher says “Look there’s the ghetto jungle gym.” He pulled off right away into a gas station. I just kinda looked around then opened the door, just as I was debating if it was a good area to leave my purse in the car or not, the craziest dressed man I’ve ever seen is walking by. The teacher asks the man if we can film him and a friend greeting eachother, so the man agrees and guides us past the house into the back yard that the jungle gym was in. It was like a different world back there. In our world this man seemed so out of wack but just a few feet into a backyard was a tribe full of this kind. They were like modern hippies. I LOVED IT!

oh and get this, they had a DJ!

After the filming we were invited to explore the tree house/jungle gym/ water slide with homemade pool at the bottom. However, the rope bridge was under construction. They had so much stuff, one thing lead to another, there was art everywhere you turned, and ciggerettes and capri suns.

There were hula hoops and pogo sticks and all this stuff, but no kids. This was just a lounge for the artists of new orleans. The coolest place you’ll ever go to.

BEST DAY EVER!

I will always remember this day, so as you know we are in Texas for the choir trip, well this morning after I ate this waffle:

Savanna and I begged mr. Matherne to let us go to the store “watchamacallit” that TAYLOR TERRY, my idol ( the girl off of my life as Liz ) works at. He agreed. So I tweeted her and she tweeted me back TWICEE!!!

So as you can see she couldn’t make it in the store because she was at her other job 😦 well anyways, after we did all of the stuff we needed to do at the college, we made our way to the store. When we pulled up it was so exciting! I couldn’t believe we were standing in front of the store my idol works at!

So we walked in, and we were sorounded by gorgeous dresses! Then all of the sudden I hear someone say “Omg welcome Brittany, Brittany did you see the sign?” I didn’t know what to think so I looked and I saw this! I couldn’t believe it! I was in tears, then one of the workers said “Brittany, we knew you were coming” Taylor Terry just made me love her a million times more. She is truly the sweetest person on earth. I mean first off she tweeted me back, then she called them and told them to put my name on the sign? 🙂

Well I found the perfect dress at the store, it was just the perfect day, really 🙂

Then later on in the evening we went to a GREAT Mexican resteraunt: EL GUAPO’S which has the best chicken tortilla soup, I wrote this on the door in the stall with the help of savanna.

Alright well it’s the last night at the hotel and I’m missing out on some fun so I’ll catch you guys later. 🙂

hi March 6th

Wow, so I’ve been running around like a crazy person today.

Let’s talk about lastnight. We went to Republic and The Real World of New Orleans is being filmed right now, and so the cast was at republic too. heres some pics. The girl is on it, but I dont think that boy was.

Well I woke up, went home, then Grant and I left to go to walmart to print pictures for my girlscout gold award. I’ve been working hard on these pictures, like I’ve even had to run around on bg road and take pics of cows and stuff.

The cashier at walmart probably thought I was on crack because I’ve been so scatter brained today and in the middle of the receipt printing I like ripped it out, I guess because I’m used to ripping out the receipt since I work at rue21, lol.

Now I have to get ready for work, Sorry today’s blog was so boring, tomorow I’ll tell you how my Gold Award came out.

number 3!

Within the first five minutes of waking up this morning, I made the biggest mistake EVER. Okay, not really.. but kinda

Let’s back track a little shall we? Three days ago, this was me:

I Just left the gym with my friend Grant, and on the way home I stopped at Wal-Mart and picked up some healthy snacks like salad and fat free apple juice. I even picked up some green tea dietary supplements.

Now back to this morning, I gave in and took a bite of this..

Edy’s, why’d you have to mix your delicious ice cream with my favorite girlscout cookie?! (I’m still a girlscout by the way, yes you can still be one at this age. It’s my last year.) Now I’m going to always want this ice cream, and it will be probably impossible to be healthier like I had planned.

OH! The concert lastnight went good, it’s the first concert I didn’t bust out laughing while I was singing. Look how cute Sav and I were.

Today at Satellite Center Max and I wrote/composed a reggae song. I guess we’ll make the music video Monday even though the project was due today. Oh well, Max’s grade, not mine! Mine is done 0:)

Today after I leave school, I’m going to go home and do a little work on Gold award for girlscouts. The envent I planned is on Sunday, and there is so much to get done.

Later on tonight I’m going to my favorite club with my girls (plus Grant AKA GRAND LE TETE), I can’t wait! It’s throwback night!!

Marching through March 4th

For today’s blog,

Okay, so I didn’t drive to school today, because I won’t have my car now, for budah knows how long. My dad has been driving around an old four runner that is like one year younger than me and it broke yesterday, suprised? I’m not. To solve this issue is simple, my dad can just take my mustang, buy a corvette and it will be my car’s replacement. DONE!

My “sister” next to me would like to be mentioned, this is her below

She was on the laptop lastnight, her mother came to the doorway and asked    “Savanna, can you come rub lotion on my back?” and this was her rude reaction that she thought her mother wouldn’t see, but in reality the laptop cam frooze and her reaction was stuck on the screen for us to laugh at for like ten minutes.

Savanna is the same girl that loved everything about the cute Cadillac she was considering, except she couldn’t handle the ugly vents.. HAHAHA

Well today was really busy, I had to sit in a stuffy room practicing for choir ALL DAY! Look how many articles I ripped off within ten minutes

Finally I decided to take a little trip to the bathroom. So there I am just sitting when I hear in a small middle school girl’s voice say “hey you, what grade are you in? You in that stall!” So I look up and see a girl looking at me through the crack of my stall door, I reply “..12th” then she continues to look at me and ask if I know her brother, and to tell him that he was stupid.  That’s just a little creepy to me, but sorta funny.

Something else funny, I gave this music composer a new hairdo. Picture him singing that country song “How do you like me now”

Now for after school, I need to take pictures around the parish. I have a concert @ 7,  then we are going to go to our favorite mexican resteraruant as a big choir family. Well this is all I have time for right now, please continue to tune in!
